Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, in collaboration with the Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI) of the United Nations, a program of the International Trade Center, and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, of the The ICE Agency and the Municipality of Milan organized the ceremony of the CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022 at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. The event saw the protagonist and rewarded personalities and virtuous examples that in the world of Italian and international fashion were committed to sustainability in its highest meaning, for vision, innovation, commitment to craftsmanship, recognition of differences, circular economy, human rights and environmental justice.
On this occasion Ratti received a special mention – Giving Hope – for the programs carried out with the Ethical Fashion Initiative.
It is an initiative that connects the brands and talents of Fashion with traditional textile artisans located in poor areas of the world, in order to promote economic independence, female employment, redemption from poverty.
“No charity, just work” is the hashtag of the initiative.
In particular, Ratti is involved in the programs: “The Peace Scarf”, referring to silk produced in Afghanistan, “FASO DAN FANI”, the Burkina Faso fabric symbol of national pride, and in the Bogolan program, a Malian fabric dyed with fermented mud .
